Details
The Laurie Davidson designed classic Cavalier 37 is noted for its seaworthiness and reliability, with many examples completing blue water passages and circumnavigations, including Kay Cottee's famous solo and non-stop voyage.
Déjà Vu was launched in 1990 in Port Hacking. She was custom built to NSW Survey requirements and features solid rails around the push-pit and entire cockpit area. Professionally built using sound boat building techniques with GRP solid laminated hull with internal composite grid structure. Bulkheads are bonded to the hull and deck for structural integrity.
She has very generous locker space throughout and a beautiful and unique full teak interior fit out. Under her previous owner (1994-2017) she circumnavigated Tasmania several times and raced competitively in Port Phillip.
Her current owners purchased her in 2017 and have restored Déjà Vu to a high cruising standard. She's been regularly maintained as well as cruising Bass Strait, Tasmania and the east coast of Australia over the past six years.
She has a well serviced Yanmar 3YM30 motor with less than 1900hrs of use. Her Autostream feathering prop is fitted with a 1¼" drive shaft and Mancour dripless seal (installed in 2018). She has a new 316 stainless steel fuel tank with 100 litre capacity.
Her standing rigging was replaced in 2020 by Almasts in Launceston, who also supplied a new Reefit headsail furler. Déjà Vu has a keel stepped mast which was refurbished and repainted in 2013.
She has an ample sail wardrobe including a Performance Cruising Laminate mainsail and genoa from 2013, a #3 Dacron radial cut cruising jib built in 2022, as well as a Kevlar light airs Genoa, spinnaker, storm jib and tri-sail.
Her electronics have been steadily updated with state of the art Raymarine Axiom MFD chart plotter, AIS700, Quantum chirp radar and most recently new Raymarine Tri-data instruments (fitted in 2022). Déjà Vu is fitted with a Coursemaster 950 hydraulic auto helm (2018).
Her rudder has been recently refurbished with new rudder bearings and steering cables, and she has four new 110Ah AGM house batteries. Her new Lofrans Cobra Windlass was fitted in 2020.
In 2020 she was given an interior refit with Nautikfloor synthetic cabin sole and Alfab toughened glass windows. She has an U-shaped galley with a recently re-conditioned classic Tudor Maxi two burner stove with oven and grill.
An insurance survey from 2022 is available.
Déjà Vu has proved herself to be a comfortable, capable and fast cruising vessel and is perfectly equipped for coastal and blue water cruising. She has recently completed an east coast cruise and is ready for a new crew to step aboard.
Deja Vu has just been antifouled and is good to go for another 18 months however she will benefit from a Soda blast in the coming years to remove thick multiple antifoul layer build up and her price has been reduced to reflect this.
